Thank you for considering KC Ambush. Hopefully this will answer many of the questions you may have about our organization, our expectations, and our culture.

Ambush is simple:
We put our heads down, drown out the outside noise, handle our business, and go to work. That means exactly what you've probably heard already— no drama. Avoid it at all costs.

We focus on development, accountability, and getting better every day.

We're looking to build an environment filled with talent, eagerness, coachability, and work ethic. Talent matters, but attitude and effort matter just as much. We want players who love to compete, love to learn, and are willing to put in work when nobody is watching.

 What We Expect:
Development doesn't happen by accident. It happens through consistent work over long periods of time. For that reason, we have a few non-negotiable expectations.

 Mandatory Weekly Lessons:
All pitchers, catchers, and hitters are expected to attend weekly lessons from September through April. We can recommend instructors or connect you with people we trust.

Everyday Work:
Players will be given "everydays" to work on outside of practice. We expect players to submit videos to the team group chat at least three times per week showing that work being completed. The goal isn't perfection. The goal is building habits, accountability, and consistency.

Positive Environment:
We expect players, parents, coaches, and fans to treat others with respect at all times. That includes teammates, opponents, umpires, tournament staff, and spectators. Negativity, gossip, sideline coaching, and public criticism help no one and are not part of the culture we're building.

Trust the Coaches:
Our coaches are responsible for teaching, correcting, motivating, and holding players accountable. Parents are encouraged to support and cheer for their daughters, but we ask that instruction be left to the coaching staff during practices and games. If you feel the need to constantly coach from the stands, it likely means there isn't enough trust in the process, and this may not be the right fit.

Attendance & Commitment:
We understand that life happens and conflicts occasionally arise.

We LOVE multi sport athletes - There is tremendous value in playing multiple sports while making the well rounded athlete. We simply ask for communication, honesty, and commitment when you're with us. When players are at practice, lessons, workouts, or games, we expect them to be fully engaged and ready to work. Playing time will NOT be in jeopardy due to multi sport conflicts if you're in season with another sport.

Communication:
We believe in open and honest communication. If concerns arise, we ask that parents communicate directly with coaches in a respectful manner. We will always listen and have conversations when needed. However, discussions regarding playing time, positions, or coaching decisions will not take place during games or immediately afterward.

What You Can Expect From Us:
You can expect coaches who care challenge your daughter, support her development, celebrate her successes, and help her work through adversity. You can expect preparation, organization, accountability, and honesty. We are committed to creating an environment where players improve not only as athletes, but also as teammates, leaders, and young women.

Who Thrives Here:
We welcome multi-sport athletes and understand that conflicts will occasionally arise throughout the year. We believe playing multiple sports can help athletes develop both physically and mentally. What matters most is communication, effort, and commitment when you're here. We are looking for families who value development and believe in the process. If your goal is to help your daughter reach her potential and be part of a team that holds players accountable, you'll fit right in. The families who thrive here are the ones who buy into the culture, trust the process, and understand that meaningful development takes time and consistent effort.

Our Goal:
Our goal is not simply to win softball games. It is to develop confident, disciplined, hardworking athletes who know how to compete, overcome adversity, and represent themselves the right way.

Winning is important, but it is the result of doing the little things right every day.

If that sounds like the environment you're looking for, we'd love to talk with you further about KC Ambush.
